Signed up for the CISM exam in Denver for June 12th, 2010

June, 2010

The last sizeable certification exam that I took was the CISSP examination in November of 2007. Since I like to add to my certifications on a regular basis, I signed up for ISACA's Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification in Denver this upcoming June (2010).

I purchased the CISM Review Manual 2009, and two supplemental manuals with questions and answers. I am dedicating myself to two or more hours of self-study per day. I am not sure why it is, but it is difficult to knuckle down into a fixed study schedule.

Since ISACA membership only added five dollars to the price of the exam, I went ahead and joined ISACA when I signed up for the exam. I received a complete membership package in the mail this afternoon. There are quite a few discounts and educational opportunities available in the rather heavy packet.

In truth, June 12th is approaching rapidly. Study time, here we come!

I did pass the exam in June of 2010, and literally much water has passed under the bridge since then.

After having several contract-jobs in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and spending time on unemployment(!), I landed a full-time job in Information Security at a great company.

Also, the Doctorate Degree got started.
